Provocative - Lisa Renee Jones

Where to start! You know a book is really good when you get goosebumps at the end, you keep scrolling to see if there is more, and you wake up the next morning thinking about said book. This book was just that good!

Faith Winter is an artist who is currently running her family’s winery that she inherits after the deaths of her father two years prior and mother who passed recently. She is desperately trying to get the winery out of a financial slump and trying to avoid foreclosure. Nick Rogers is a successful lawyer whose father had passed away two months prior.

Nick and Faith meet at an event being held at the winery but this not a chance meeting. Nick has researched Faith extensively and his reason for doing so is stated right away and the plot is given early and throughout the book you are trying to figure out what really happened and who did what. Nick thinks that Faith is guilty of a crime and sets to prove her guilt and destroy her at the same time. What he didn’t bank on was developing feelings for her and instead of proving she is guilty, he wants to prove her innocence. Both Nick and Faith are keeping secrets from each other, but we know what Nick is hiding and throughout the book, Faith makes little references to her past but we are blind and can only assume whether or not she is guilty or innocent. I kept thinking, she is innocent and could not have done what Nick thinks she did or she is a really good actress! There are also other players in the book that have connections to Nick’s accusations and throughout the book I was like, it could be this person, no wait, maybe it was this person.

The book is beautifully written and I applaud the author for her writing style. We get both Faith and Nick’s POVs which I really enjoyed. It does end on a cliffhanger, but when a book is this good, I could care less about a cliffhanger! I cannot wait until the next book so that we can finally find out the answers to all of the questions that remain.

This book is a must read and is worth 5+ stars! I really see this book being listed as one of the best in 2017. You will not be disappointed.

Boss - Sierra Cartwright

Overall, this was a nice read. I really liked how the book flowed and it wasn't too over the top. The characters were mature and knew exactly what they wanted in life. The story was good and I liked how the previous characters from the two previous books made appearances.

The book starts off when the Donovan company takes over the company that Kelsey works for and now Nathan Donovan is her boss. She is the assistant to the owner but is pretty much running the company. Kelsey and Nathan relationship starts off rocky as she is so shocked that her previous boss would just hand over the company to the Donovan's without prior warning. She eventually gets over this hurdle and it is back to business as usual.  Kelsey has had an interest in BDSM and her best friend books them to attend a local BDSM club not realizing Nathan's family ties to the club. Once Nathan gets word that Kelsey is supposed to attend the club, he offers to train her for the week. As the week go on, both try desperately to keep their feelings in check as they do have to work with each other after the week is over. Will it be business as usual when the week is over or will they delve into something more?

I look forward to reading more from this author!

Sights on the Seal - Alexis Abbott

This was not a bad story overall. The romance was little rushed for my liking. The plot and the action scenes were really good. Both Becca and Adrian were sweet and likable. Adrian was total bad ass with all his combat skills. I think what would have made this story stand out if it had started in the beginning when Becca and Adrian first meet, then into the next two years when they apart and the events that take place while apart and build up the momentum to their next meeting 2 years later. This was not a bad read, just a little rushed for my liking. I would definitely read more from this author in the future.

Saint by A. Zavarelli

I can only say that every book that A. Zavarelli comes out with only gets better!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Who knew that Scarlett was such as a badass! What Scarlett went through as a teenager was heartbreaking and her experience made her the badass she is in the book. Although, I did not like what Scarlett “thought” she was going to do to Rory for messing her plans up in the beginning. Rory was such a sweetheart and I applaud him for being so patient with Scarlett. We get little character cameos from the other books in the series, but I really like how this book was all about Scarlett and Rory. This book had it all – humor, drama, angst, action, you name it! Overall, this was an excellent book and I am anxious to see what Booker and Storm’s story would be like!! 5 out of 5 stars!!! Can’t wait to read more from this author.

Start Over - J. Saman

This was such a sweet story! The book starts off with Dr. Ivy Green who is drinking her sorrows away after losing a patient while on shift. She meets Claire and doesn’t realize that she is in a gay bar! Ivy gets coaxed into going to an engagement party with Claire and runs into her one and only one night stand Luke Walker. Ivy immediately recognizes him and she thinks he doesn’t recognize her, but he does.

Ivy is leaving for a fellowship in Boston in one month and Luke wants to start where they left off 10 years ago. The story is in both Ivy and Luke’s POV’s which is really nice.  The story wasn’t drawn out like other books and I was pleased by this. I also liked the fact that the author progressed their relationship and it wasn’t insta love. I also liked the fact that Luke did feel something for Ivy 10 years ago but couldn’t act on it right then because he had his issues to deal with. Now they have one month and one month is all it takes for them to fall and fall hard. But Ivy still has her obligation to the fellowship she agreed to.

I won’t give too much away, but I was almost heart broken when Ivy returned from her fellowship in Boston, but I am so glad the story ended the way it did. There is no cliffhanger (yes!!) and we have a HEA! I’m hoping the author will continue with Claire and Kyle’s story. I’m sure this will be a good one as well not to mention funny as Claire is hilarious in this book.
