Trigger by J.L. Drake - Review

TRIGGER (Devil's Reach Book 1)

***5 Stars!!***

This is a biker story at its best!! I loved, loved this book! Once I started it, I could not stop! I need the next one ASAP!

Trigger is the President of Devil’s Reach MC. As a kid, he was abused physically and mentally by his father and was trained to fight to literally survive his childhood. Tessa is best friends with Brick who is Trigger’s VP. She’s left her life in Las Vegas and we get hints on why, but not the whole story in the beginning. Brick offers Tessa a bartending job at the club and immediately is liked by the guys. I loved Tessa’s character. She was strong, resilient, and even though she went through some crazy things during her upbringing, she masks it well and is determined to move on with life. I loved how Tessa took no shit from anyone and always spoke her mind.

Trigger cannot understand why he is attracted to Tessa and why it bothers him so much when the other men in the club gives their attention to her. Tessa held her own throughout the book and literally gave Trigger a run for his money and it was refreshing to see the heroine in this light. The secondary characters in the book are just as great and I love how Tessa was able to form solid friendships with the other members of the club especially Brick’s girl Minnie. The book is fast paced, we have rival gangs, a mole that is leaking secrets, club whores causing trouble, and the pasts of both Trigger and Tessa that refuses to stay in the past.

This was an excellent story and I cannot wait until the next book which I hope is very soon. I don’t think I can go months and months without finding out what happens to Trigger and Tessa!
