I am
such a sucker for small town romances and this book had me sucked in right from
the beginning! It was such an emotional book and both the main characters were
absolutely great!
Ellie
and Callum have a chance meeting at a bus station in Chicago and both are
instantly drawn to each other. Ellie is moving on with her life to a new town
and Callum is returning to his home town after visiting his brother. Both part
ways not expecting to ever see each other again, but fate has different plans
for them.
Ellie
ends up relocating to Callum’s hometown where they meet up again. Both are
still attracted to each other, but Ellie is holding back because she is running
from her past and does not want to get too attached to anyone just in case she
needs to jump ship. Ellie’s childhood was very heartbreaking and we understand
why she keeps everyone around her at arm’s length. The secondary characters in
the book are great and I like that even though the book had loads of emotional
angst, the secondary characters lightened up the mood which made the book more
enjoyable! From here, we see their relationship bloom but as Ellie’s past make
its way to the present, will Ellie and Callum have their HEA?
This
was a great story and the all of the characters were likable and I look
forward to reading more from this author!
